We invite you to the enchanting, private gardens of Casa Werma in the Pueblo Magico Patzcuaro, Michoacan on Saturday July 2, 2022. This rare opportunity to explore a treasured and spiritual estate was inspired by the birthday of Mexico's most iconic female artist, and the cautious emergence of public life following two years of lockdowns. The purpose of this art festival is for the public to participate in the arts we treasure around the Lake Patzcuaro region, not only as observers or collectors, but also creators. Spend the afternoon painting a Frida portrait, making a crown of roses, manifesting miracles with your own chosen milagro charms, or painting a Frida Catrina doll.
By evening, we will be feasting on divine cuisine, made with love by Eddie Alvarez of Morelia's beloved Cielo Cocina Fusion, and celebrated P'urepecha chef, Rosalba Morales Bartolo. Our main course will be mouth watering Carnitas, which was not only one of Frida Kahlo's favourite dishes but has also be a long-standing tradition in Eddie's family, after his father opened the first sit-down Carnitas restaurant in Morelia many years ago. This feast also includes salsas & chiles en vinagre, guacamole, chicharron, frijoles, and mole de queso with Rosalba's homemade tortillas. Enjoy your meal with local wine, artisanal beer, mezcal, charanda, or hot chocolate! We will enjoy live entertainment (TBA), and the joy of great, art-loving, food worshiping company.
We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
